The Game of Luck is a popular board game among those who spend a lot of time on their computers and iPhones and even among those who prefer to play with friends. It’s a game where a player makes use of dice to roll the numbers or other cards that are drawn from a hat and then tries to “get lucky” by hitting certain numbers or making specific combinations of dice rolls. In many ways, the object is to try to manipulate the random number generator in such a way as to create a sequence of events that will give you the highest probability of hitting a certain number or combination of cards. The best way to win is to spend as much time in the game as possible, and hopefully build a system or strategy that can predict when the dice will be rolling in a particular situation, and thus maximize your odds of getting the outcome you want.
There are two types of Luck Games available and both have different themes and rules. The first is the abstract Luck Game, where luck is used as a means of manipulating the game. In this game, you would need to think about the possible outcomes, including possibilities like hitting a single letter, being spotted, making an alliance with another player, ambushing the abductors, etc., and then using the abstract numbers on your Terror Deck to counter those outcomes. You could build your Terror Deck with any number of elements, but be careful not to overload your table with elements that have nothing to do with each other, or that will cause your game to be too dependent on luck.
The second is more of a classic game, where the goal is to eliminate the threat, and the elimination requires strategy and planning. The basic game of Solitaire, which was first invented by German virtuoso Martin Hofer in 1801, is perhaps the best known example of abstract Luck. In a nutshell, Solitaire requires that you arrange the cards in a straight line, then place your bid, then take the action required for you to win the game. The goal is to eliminate all the tiles by matching the color or shape to the row, column or diagonal that you have drawn. This game is also popularly referred to as “solve the riddle.”
Perhaps the simplest of all games about luck, as it doesn’t require any calculations or the use of tools, is the game of Backgammon. It is usually played on a square shaped board with four players, where each player has a die and a set of five cards. Each player alternates turns, laying down their card face up, then rolling the dice to determine the number of clubs that are rolled onto their respective dials. The objective is to spend the least amount of time possible on the dial that you are on, avoiding having to remove your clubs from the dial or spending points if you spend them. You are allowed to switch between your two dice sets, but only the minimum number of times is permitted.
One of the more challenging aspects of the game of Backgammon is its bluffing techniques. Players must employ their deductive skills to discern whether or not another player is bluffing. Generally they do this by carefully observing how the other player plays. While this sounds difficult, it is often very simple when you know how the game is designed to work. One thing you can be sure of, is that the person that is not bluffing is generally not an “abducted” player.
One of the oldest and most well known games of chance is Roulette. In this game, a person rolls a wheel and the point value of the wheel is visible. Players bet amounts dependent upon how the wheel spins. Luck turns out to be quite important in this game. The house always ends up with at least one point, but some have seen individuals walk away with six or even seven points.
The most popular game of luck used at casinos is poker. Poker players are very careful of each other, trying to determine which other players are actually good or bad, even if they are playing in a casino all alone. Luck seems to be a part of every poker game. Players try their best but end up with disappointments. There is no exact science to winning or losing at poker, but certain characteristics seem to be present in nearly all of the successful players that you will meet.

Some of the successful players have a sixth sense, which allows them to “read” the fortunes that others cast.
